At Nightcliff Middle School we have a program that runs for our year 7 to 9 students called SEL (Social and Emotional Learning). Each term we have various themes that promotes health and wellbeing initiatives, social justice and respectful relationships. This term is based around the theme of giving – especially with Christmas coming around the corner. We were wanting to volunteer our time to community and organisations to teach our students the valuable gift of giving.
We are aiming to have approximately 25 year 8 students and two staff from 9:30 to 10:15am on a Wednesday morning over a four-week period where we can volunteer our time to help tidy the beaches by picking up rubbish in the area. There would be a total of 4 classes which will rotate for the month of November (Wed 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd) – A new group of students and teachers each week.
