For the first time, Clean Up Australia teamed up with the Ubuntu Foundation to connect people with the environment and each other.

We called on all Queenslanders to get out and clean up your local environment and in so doing, support women experiencing domestic and family violence.

For every person who registered and participated in a Clean Up Australia event in Queensland between 1 - 31 May 2025, the Ubuntu Foundation donated $20 to Women’s Legal Service Queensland, to help provide free legal and support services to women and children facing domestic violence.

Carolyn Vincent’s Ubuntu Foundation and Clean Up Australia partnership is founded on the power of community to create real change by connecting with the natural environment and each other. With mounting distress about the ecological and climate crisis, feelings of increased isolation and hopelessness, volunteering to pick up litter can provide a simple, immediate, and collaborative antidote.

May marks Domestic Violence Prevention Month in Queensland, highlighting the importance of supporting services that help women and children in crisis. By hosting a Clean Up, community groups, schools, and businesses supported environmental restoration and WLSQ at the same time.

About Ubuntu Foundation

The Ubuntu Foundation was started in 2019 by Carolyn Vincent. It is the culmination of Carolyn’s lifelong journey, allowing her the privilege of dedicating her life to service and supporting causes she deeply cares about. At Ubuntu, our mission is to foster unity, build communities, and address the underlying disconnects that challenge our world today.

We believe that every crisis we face, whether it be environmental, social, or spiritual stems from a profound disconnect. We have become disconnected from ourselves, each other, our higher power, and the natural world. Yet, everything in this universe is interconnected and interdependent. Understanding this interconnectedness is key to restoring peace, harmony, and balance.

The Ubuntu Foundation is committed to donating $20 for every volunteer who participates in a Clean Up Australia registered Clean Up in Queensland between the 1 – 31st May 2025, to a maximum of $41,000.
