My name is Tracy. I am an individual trying to contribute towards reducing pollution by doing my little bit to keep our environment clean. I visit Pethard Place Lookout in Bendigo a bit, because I love the views and the breeze from that observation point. One visit, I noticed a huge amount off rubbish left behind by people. I was upset and disappointed in those fellow community members who decided it was okay to drop their rubbish on the ground. So, I decided if they are not going to pick it up, then I'll have to.
It makes me pleased to know the rubbish I picked up and put in the bin could no longer be blown into the bushes and left to disturb the environment. And, as a bonus the lookout advantage point was a lot nicer place to be. With this in mind, I have registered as an individual to do litter collection here as often as I can avail myself. ??

Pethard PL Lookout - 1Mar24

Looking back to my first litter pick-up here 1Mar24:
I collect four bags of rubbish on this day. Mostly take away food packaging. A few vape things. Some discarded cigarette packets. A few snap lock bags, one with small clear rock like particals. A bicycle horn. Some wire, and other random things.

There was much less litter here today. I collected one and a half bags full.  It looks like council may have mowed fairly recently, perhaps they've done a pick up of litter.
Again, most of the litter was take away food packaging. burger boxes and wraps, plus bags. Drink cups and straws. Drink bottles. Pizza box. Mexican food packaging.
I'm going to appoach council about putting a recycle bin in place, as most of the litter is cardboards and paper.
------
I did a collection here only a week or so (non-documented). Perhaps that is also why there was less litter.  Please place your litter in a bin. ??

Pethard PL Lookout - 1May24

Such a beautiful morning! But, oh boy...what a lot of rubbish! I really don't understand why people choose to litter rather than using the council bin/s. provided.

I'm doing this for mother earth. Although, it makes me happy to see this beautiful location clean (mostly) of rubbish. 💚
