Green Hour: Clean-Up Initiative

By Lachlan Serpell Join Me

The Green Hour initiative is a one-hour clean-up event focused on Flagstaff Gardens in Melbourne’s CBD on the 23rd September, 2025. Organised by RMIT students, the project aims to improve the cleanliness and visual appeal of this high-traffic public space while raising awareness of sustainable practices. Flagstaff Gardens is a central location, used daily by students from RMIT, Melbourne University, and Victoria University, as well as thousands of visitors to the nearby Queen Victoria Market.

Through this event, we seek to engage student volunteers and community members in collective action to reduce litter, encourage responsible waste disposal, and inspire long-term behavioural change towards urban sustainability.
