Quantcast

Pyes Creek, Cherrybrook

Pyes Creek, accessed from culdesac in Keighran Place, Cherrybrook.  Plenty of street parking.

We try to make this a fun annual event, with a bbq sausage sizzle at the end.
Drinks included-yes, even beer !
Requires reasonable fitness as we walk along the creek banks, scouring for rubbish.  Mostly soft plastics and polystyrene these days, but still some drink containers and surprises.
An enjoyable day as we walk past and over interesting rock formations, logs and rocky creek crossings.  Enjoy the bush as maybe you never have before.
If you have rubbish collecting grabber thing, it will be handy for pulling plastic down from bushes and trees.  Otherwise, use hands.  Gloves are provided.
We see occasional wildlife and plenty of birds.  Hear the reclusive Whipbird, Kookaburras and the everpresent screech of Cockatoos, to name a few.
Be sure to wear solid, closed footware.
Start time 10 am,, but come earlier to register.  Finish at 12, but stay for a snag and a drink and talk about your experience
A surprise prize for the most unusual item collected
