Quantcast

Alison Baird Reserve

The Brixton St  Wetlands are Perth's most biodiverse Bush Forever Area. Yet the verges of the bush areas of this precious gem ( along Brook Rd, Bickley Rd, Boudary Rd and Brentwood Rd) seem to have  been forgotten  by the LGA. The result has been that many people who drive past, look at these awfully neglected road verges and seem  to think its OK to use them as a dumping ground  for all sorts of household and even industrial waste. Let's turn this around? Clean verges would lift  the morale of local people and help to make them feel proud of where they live. This has been proven to discourage dumpers. Also many native animals who currently die from eating plastic and other waste (or die from  being entangled in it) will be saved. We can also clear up weeds as we go.  Bring a camera as many flora amd fauna to see as well.  Enjoy a nice morning cuppa and cake at the end!
