Oatley Flora and Fauna Conservation Society (OFF) is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year and it has run CUAD sites since 1989. Lime Kiln Bay Wetlands are important for a wide range of wildlife and OFF has long promoted their environmental values. We have run a public education campaign to encourage litter reduction in the surrounding gutters that drain into the wetlands, and we monitor the amount of rubbish in the wetlands. We also undertake Streamwatch sampling in Dairy Creek, upstream of the wetlands.
We recommend gumboots or other waterproof footwear for wading in the wetlands.
