To celebrate CLEAN-UP AUSTRALIA DAY at Emmanuel College our Year 8 and 7 students are starting a "Clean up our school program" in Week 6. The goal of this program is to keep our school litter free and also for students to learn the importance of "Cleaning up Australia - Today, Tomorrow and Everyday". Year 8 & 7 homerooms will be allocated 2 weeks throughout the year, where it will be their turn to ensure that any loose rubbish is collected. By doing this they stop the rubbish from making it to stormwater drains and ultimately to our creeks, rivers, and oceans, which is harmful to wildlife. Of course, YOU are strongly encouraged to put YOUR OWN rubbish in the correct bin!
Year 8 and 7 students will receive a merit point for this community service. The school will have a homeroom allocated for the rest of 2023. So, if you see them out with their buckets and tongs, please make sure you say 'THANK YOU" to them for their efforts in making our school litter free and helping our natural environment thrive,
